How the season opens
- UTRGV at home on Sept. 5
- Road trip to Texas State on Sept. 12

UTSA Roadrunners football starts with a home date against UTRGV. After that, a short trip to San Marcos follows. The real early test arrives the next week with a Saturday night visit to Austin, one of the toughest road environments in the country.
October slate and the first short week
- Road trip to Rice on Oct. 3
- USF under the lights on Oct. 8
- Navy at the Alamodome on Oct. 17
- Road game at Tulane on Oct. 24
- Bye week on Oct. 31
Rice gives the roster an early conference road test. From there, the UTSA AAC schedule delivers a Thursday night home game against USF before Navy arrives. A trip to New Orleans then closes out October, and the open date offers a chance to recover.
Homecoming and the finish
- Thursday night at Florida Atlantic on Nov. 5
- North Texas for Homecoming on Nov. 14
- Road trip to UAB on Nov. 21
- Tulsa at home to close the regular season
The second short-week game of the year comes in Boca Raton. North Texas then returns the Roadrunners home for Homecoming before a trip to Birmingham. Tulsa wraps the regular season in San Antonio, though the official date may land on either Nov. 27 or Nov. 28. If UTSA reaches the American Championship, that game is set for Dec. 5.
