That alone would be enough to define most seasons. The 2026 Oklahoma Football Schedule still has more waiting in November — Florida on the road, then Ole Miss and Texas A&M at home before the year closes at Missouri.

Early Schedule Is Already Loud
Oklahoma opens with:
- UTEP at home on a Friday night
- Michigan in Ann Arbor
- New Mexico at home
- Georgia in Athens
Two of the first four games are true road tests against top-tier programs. There is almost no time to find a rhythm before the hard ones arrive.
Red River Still Sits in the Middle
After the bye, everything points to Dallas:
- Texas at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 10
That game still carries more history and pressure than almost anything else on the Oklahoma SEC schedule. Win it and the season feels different. Lose it and the next month gets heavier.
November Decides the Rest
The final stretch includes:
- Kentucky at home
- Mississippi State on the road
- South Carolina at home
- Florida on the road
- Ole Miss at home
- Texas A&M at home
- Missouri on the road to close
Ole Miss and Texas A&M back-to-back in Norman give Oklahoma Sooners Football two high-stakes home dates late. Stumble there and the trip to Columbia becomes a must-win just to keep the year from ending on a quiet note.
What Stands Out
The 2026 Oklahoma football schedule is front-loaded with difficulty and still finishes with ranked competition. Seven home games help. The neutral-site Red River date helps less than it used to. How Oklahoma football handles Michigan, Georgia, Texas and the November home stretch will decide whether this team is still relevant in December.
